Ditto Tips For Successful Consignment
Even though you may not be wearing your outfit anymore, you don’t just want to give it away. Just like everyone else, you want the best price for your items.
Here are a few steps you can take that help you get your items noticed and sold:
1. Clean, Clean, Clean! This cannot be stressed enough. No matter how trendy they are, we cannot accept them, nor do dirty clothes sell. Take care to wash, dry clean, remove hair and lint.
Wash them fresh before consigning even if they were put into storage clean. Stored clothes attract an odor and simple washing, drying, pressing will make all the differnce in the world! Clothes with any odor will not sell.

2. Use an iron. Your items will immediately catch our eye and a buyer’s eye if they are pressed and on hangers.
3. Look into your crystal ball….In other words, look toward the future (of re-sale) and take special care of your clothing. Treat and remove spills or stains ASAP! Avoid putting sweaters on hangers.
4. Secure buttons, seams, and use a ‘fuzz buster’. Damaged clothing will not sell.
5. Presentation is everything! You want your great looking clothes to get front and center attention! Make sure a multi-piece outfit is all there. Bring neatly folded sweaters and everything else on hangers. A little laundry basket set aside for collecting and transporting your items works great. Please – NO bags of clothing. Good presentation means they will sell which adds up to $ for you!
6. Current Styles sell best - no matter how nice or expensive the item. Some items are classic in style and you could get away with a teeny bit older age, but it is not the norm. No more than 2-3 yrs is recommended. Colors are important. Some colors are a sure give-away that the item is older.
We want you to enjoy consigning with us. So take a little extra time to prepare your items as it will increase their chance of being accepted and their selling price!
